Terms of Service
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms govern your use of IndusVidhara. They matter most in three places: who may teach, who owns what, and what happens to money.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are creating an account for a child, you are agreeing on their behalf and you are responsible for their use of the platform.
You must be 18 or older to hold a teacher account.
2. Teacher verification
Teachers teach children, so a teacher account is not usable in full until we have reviewed it. Until then you can sign in and complete your profile, but you cannot create an academy, enrol students, publish content or appear in the public directory.
- You must give accurate qualifications and, where asked, genuine identity documents. Supplying false information is grounds for immediate and permanent removal.
- We may approve, reject, ask for more information, or suspend an account at any time if we have reason to doubt it is safe for children.
- Verification is a check, not a guarantee. We do not employ teachers and we do not supervise lessons. Parents remain responsible for who they choose.
3. Plans and payment
- The Free tier has limits on academies, batches, students and teacher seats. Paid plans raise them. Current limits are shown on the pricing page and in your account.
- Subscriptions renew each billing period until cancelled. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
- If a plan lapses, nothing is deleted. You drop to the Free tier: everything you already created stays readable, and only new additions beyond the free limits are paused.
- Prices are in Indian rupees and exclude GST unless stated. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; an existing period is unaffected.
4. The marketplace
Teachers may sell courses and digital products. IndusVidhara takes a 15% platform fee and the teacher keeps 85%, unless a different share is agreed in writing.
- You may only sell material you own or have the right to sell. Selling someone else's work is grounds for removal and forfeiture of the proceeds.
- A course must contain at least one lesson before it can be published. Selling an empty course is not permitted.
- We may remove a listing that breaches these terms, and refund buyers where appropriate.
5. Refunds
- Subscriptions. Refundable within 7 days of the first payment of a plan if you have not used the paid features. Renewals are not refundable, but you may cancel before the next one.
- Marketplace purchases. Refundable within 7 days where the material is materially not as described, or is inaccessible through our fault. A refund is not available simply because you have finished with it.
- Where we remove a teacher or their content for breaching these terms, we will refund affected buyers and recover the amount from the teacher.
6. Who owns what
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your notes, recordings, courses and student records. We claim no ownership of it.
You give us a licence to host, process and display that content only so far as is needed to run the service: to show it to the students you teach or who buy it, to review it for safety, and to back it up. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups and records we are required to keep.
The IndusVidhara platform, name and logo remain ours.
7. Content rules and moderation
Teaching shorts are reviewed by our team before any student can see them. We may reject or take down content at any time, and we will tell you why.
You may not upload or share anything that:
- is unlawful, sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise unsuitable for children;
- infringes someone else's copyright or impersonates another person;
- is advertising dressed as teaching, or exists to move students off the platform;
- exposes a child's personal details, including in a video.
Editing a short after approval sends it back for review — approval covers the material that was actually watched. Where a short is hosted by a third party such as Instagram or YouTube, you remain responsible for it continuing to meet these rules there.
8. Conduct
Do not attempt to access another account or another institute's data, scrape the platform, circumvent plan limits, share paid material you did not buy, or contact students you do not teach.
Downloading, re-recording or redistributing paid material is a breach of these terms and of the seller's copyright.
9. Availability and liability
We aim to keep the service running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults happen.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a lesson that did not take place, or for a dispute between a teacher and a student or parent — those are between you. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Ending an account
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will do so immediately and without notice where a child's safety is involved.
On closure you can export your content for 30 days. After that, see clause 7 of the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is retained.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction.
